He was born in Trabzon. He completed his primary school in Maçka and his secondary and high school education in Trabzon. After graduating from Atatürk University Faculty of Medicine, he started as an assistant in the Department of Neurosurgery. Besides Switzerland, Germany, France, England, Austria, Belgium, Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Yugoslavia, Canada, USA. and Japan at different times. As an invited lecturer, participating in many international meetings and taking part in the editorial boards of scientific journals, Prof. Aydın is an active member of the New York Academy of Sciences, an International member of AANS, and the Official Lecturer of the 1994 International Congress of Skull Base Surgery. He was also elected to the International Science Council of CNS in 1995. He was on the cover of the International Journal of Neurosurgery. He received the Turkish Neurosurgery Award in 1999. He learned calligraphy, Islamic Law and French from his father, mufti Halit Aydın. During this time, he also continued his education at primary, secondary, high school, High Islamic Institute and Faculty of Medicine. In addition to neurosurgery, he was interested in fine arts, mainly in the fields of poetry, calligraphy, classical Turkish music, caricature, music philosophy, neurology, literature and theology, wrote articles, gave conferences and lectures. His articles, comments, criticisms and poems were published in various newspapers and magazines. He still publishes regular articles in his column called Neurolozo in a weekly newspaper. The scientist and writer İsmail Hakkı Aydın, who is mainly known in the literary world for publishing his scientific works into books, wrote Suz-i Dilara in 1991, Aşk in 2000, Vuslat in 2002, Nefes in 2010, Hicran in 2013 and Ya Hayy! Poetry books were published sequentially. Composed of "Neuroozok" articles, Lord Protect Me From Doctors! in 2013, Oh These Doctors! His works were published in 2015, while The Brain Code and Anger Control and Motivation (with Can Hikmet Değirmenci) were published in 2016. He wrote scientific articles about his literary and artistic aspects and used the most syllables in his own poetry and modern rubai form, which he developed with the expression of literary authorities.
